"Hope" - a call!

A multimedia project for the creators of the periphery

Tel Aviv team in collaboration with Galit Florentz with the support of the Director of Culture

Hello everyone

"Hope" inevitably names the line that connects the past with the future with hope for a better future.

After 60 years, where is the hope? What content are we giving to our national anthem these days? And where do we direct our personal hope today?

My name is Galit Florence I am a multimedia artist who connects music and plastic art.

And invites artists from various fields of art - music, plastic arts - photography, painting, drawing, video art writing - poetry, plays,  Dance, cinema, etc.

To create a joint evening that will go up together in Tel Aviv and wander around the country.

The theme of the show is hope and there may be a reference to the national anthem "Hope". We turn to artists from different fields of art and from different areas in the country in order to bring fragrances, colors, scents from around the country and convey them.  Through different arts while getting to know and connecting with different artists and uniting them to work together. At the end of the creation process we will unite and weave all the works into one common work that expresses unity and hope.

Participants will be selected by an artistic committee whose members are Shlomo Plesner (theater) and Yoram Vidal (photographer) Ofer Amram (theater) Galit Florentz (multimedia) The committee will accompany the entire creative process.

At the end of the project, there will be an evening of works by the artists intertwined with one show.

Priority will be given  For creators who have several skills - director and playwright, as a choreographer and dancer, composer and singer, actor and director, etc.

Cloudy  Taking part in the project will send a summary of an idea for a work on the subject - "Hatikva" as well as a portfolio of previous works.

Financial compensation will be given to those selected for the project to finance the work.

After the selection of the participants by the artistic team, there will be a meeting of all the members of the group and the artistic team once every two weeks to view the works and link them together, there may be collaborations between the group members.

Most of the meetings will be held in a team that will host the project and where it will take place  The opening show after the project is completed.

In some of them, the meetings will take place in the different regions of the country from which the artists came

After about a year of creative work separately and in a group, there will be a stage of weaving the works into a show that will combine all the works for a stage event that will travel to the cities from which the artists came and other places in order to increase awareness of creative integration in different fields.

Deadline for submission of works is September 15

The general idea behind the project is connection and hope.

"Hope" process and concept

The "Hatikva" project began about two years ago with the aim of checking edges - looking for hope in places with distress. It was a period of shelling on Sderot and the northern border and we wanted to check but hold hope in these places  Through the creation of a laboratory of peripheral creators who poured into their works the concept of hope, both as personal hope and as an expression of the national anthem that serves as an umbrella under which we live.

A call came from the artistic committee that included Yoram Videl, Ofer Amram and Shlomo Plesner

The committee convened several times until the artists were selected and the group began work.

Shortly after its formation the group disbanded apparently the physical distance prevailed.

I decided to change concept  And test the hopes of young Tel Aviv artists

A complex and difficult enough subject, an artist at the beginning of his career, and the test for holding hope is interesting.

Indeed the committee convened again  And we chose artists. The group of young Tel Aviv artists began work. The group worked for about a year and a creative search took place but when they tried to unite into the group, disagreements arose. I felt they were looking for a leader who would see and guide the process which went against the artistic concept which was based on independent and free voices of artists standing side by side.

And so after about a year this concept also fell apart.

So it turned out that after a year and a half of process, meetings, construction, creation, dismantling, and hope and again everything is dismantled.

Despair is the exact word for the feeling that surrounded the project, admitting that I had thoughts to give up.

At about the same time, two good friends, Michal Yairi Dolev and Hila Harmati, came to me, after I told them about the status of the project, asked me to send them a song by email, and two days later, out of generous giving, they came to me with a charming pink video to sing in Tzruya Lahav's Garden.

Then the understanding fell, the hope here around me.

The artistic committee that also included active artists began to create into the project I asked around me who was interested in the search for hope and more wonderful artists were added.

Aharona Israeli (dance) was the only one who survived and remained from the concept of young artists from Tel Aviv and for perseverance faith and seriousness  I feel great respect and appreciation for her and her dancers.

This is how the concept of hope was found about six months ago.

Each artist was asked to create 3 sections on the subject of hope with a beginning, middle and end.

Many other artists helped, weaved and fought materials, opinions and great talent on the subject  One - "Hope"

Tonight you will see the  The pieces of work are intertwined.

In the garden that takes place / Tzruya Lahav

And now a screen has been opened, a lighted milky path opens outside and inside pass and come in the garden that takes place a pulsating wonder and asks all the time and above and clean and what separates from me what comes back to me To the Innocent and the Born all the time and above and within and clean what separates from me ... In the Garden that takes place overseeing the realm of fire I chose with humble happiness and now the screen and path are so fragile all the time and above and inside and clean ...
